I believe in scarves – I must have about two hundred of them. They are my pet accessory because they can be worn with such singularity. I rarely go out – or stay home for that matter – without one of some size, shape, or fabric around my neck or tucked into my jacket.
– Anne Fogarty (1919-1980), American fashion designer and author of the book, Wife Dressing: The Fine Art of Being a Well-Dressed Wife (reprinted by Glitterari, 2008)
I’m with you, Ms. Fogarty. I always have a scarf with me along with at least one hat.
Oh man, WordPress. Did you have to put a GD beef ad in my post?! Just FYI to my readers, I don’t support McDonalds or the beef industry. In fact, I don’t eat beef and I don’t eat at McDonalds.
Hey, bully for you. Do you really have to embellish your words with the initials “GD”? Very offensive to this reader. Completely unnecessary.
God damn, you should definitely never use abbreviations😸 That’s the issue there, right?
I feel you on the beef ad. They could at least tailor the ad to the content of the posts. Especially for something like beef. There’d never be a smoking ad, so why beef? However, in the reader I don’t see any ads attached to your post. So that’s good, right?
I’m sorry I said god damn. I realized you maybe used GD for a reason and I don’t wish to offend you, the author. I just find it ridiculous that someone who opts in to read your blog should scold you for how you choose to write. Especially over something like GD. I mean, maybe you abbreviated gosh darn or Garry Danko or Gabana & Dolce. Ok I’ll GD it. That was GD short for go drop.
Hee, hee … thank you, Very Bangled, for your support on both points. It seems the ads pop up randomly. Usually they are fashion related, which I don’t mind. As for the offended reader, this isn’t the first time I have offended her by what I have said and I doubt it will be the last. Most of my readers, like you, are supportive. Thanks again for speaking up and for reading OverDressed for Life.
Instead of McD I will walk over to the Hermes store and gawk at all of the scarves I could buy. OMG they are just so beautiful.
