And the winner is … Grape Leather! That was my vote.
WWD announced the winner this morning. The Italian team behind the idea of reusing grape wine waste for leather will receive $320,000 from the H&M Foundation.
Leader of Grape Leather, Rossella Longobardo says: “Our first objectives will consist in switching from a pilot to an industrial scale production of our fabric and starting a green, cruelty-free revolution within the leather industry, finally solving its related issues and overexploitation.”
This is very exciting. I’m looking forward to the revolution!
